The Topsfield Playground Committee believes that outdoor play boosts creativity, helps with problem-solving, mental focus, and promotes collaborative social play. The Topsfield Playground Committee is a volunteer-run organization based in Topsfield, MA. We are dedicated to making play challenging, fun, safe, and accessible. Our mission is to support the creation and maintenance of areas to provide safe, accessible, open-ended play for the families of Topsfield as well as the surrounding cities and towns.

Organized in 2008 by Topsfield families, we are a non-profit committee and are recognized as a tax-exempt public charity under IRC section 501(c)(3). We meet monthly to ensure that the town playgrounds align with our goals.

WHAT HAVE WE ACCOMPLISHED?   Since 2008, we have raised over $300,000 to achieve our mission. Hundreds of volunteers and local contractors and businesses have come together through the years to support our projects including:
Proctor School Playground (Fall 2009) Grove Street Playground (Fall 2010) Steward K-3 Playground (Fall 2012) Steward Pre-School Playground (Summer 2014) Steward Buddy Bench (Fall 2014) Proctor Mega Chess (Summer 2015) Steward Mega Checkers (Winter 2015) Proctor School Playground Maypole (Summer 2015) Snowshoes for Steward/Proctor PE (Winter 2015-2016) Steward/Proctor GaGa Ball Pits (December 2016), playground mulch/maintenance & repair support (Winter 2021) Deb Watson memorial bench for Steward School.
